Kanab Tour Company in Kanab, Utah

DEPOSITS

To secure your space on any tour, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required. Any balance due will be charged on the day of the tour. We take all credit cards. Please note, we do not accept PayPal. All prices are subject to Utah Sales Tax (8.45%)

CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 24 hours before a scheduled tour. This gives us the opportunity to offer the tour to other guests. For these cancellations, all but $100 will be refunded. For online bookings, there is also a 6% booking fee on the sub-total which is non-refundable.

If you cancel in less than 24 hours before a scheduled tour, there will be no refund and, if necessary, the balance due will be charged to the credit card on file. Cancellations due to unsafe weather conditions will be refunded in full if we are not able to reschedule and agreed upon by both parties.

Our cancellation policy applies in every instance and there will be no exceptions for any reason. Kanab Tour Company will not issue a refund for arriving late or leaving a trip early. Kanab Tour Company is not responsible for any expenses incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations or illness.

I understand that by my payment of the $100 deposit and/or my online booking, I have read and fully understand Kanab Tour Company’s cancellation policy.

CHANGES TO TOURS / SCHEDULES

We reserve the right to change the scheduled itinerary at our discretion. It will sometimes be necessary to change plans and itineraries due to bad weather, acts of Mother Nature or situations beyond our control. If changes are required, we will do our best to substitute a quality experience, and try to provide you with a tour that exceeds your expectations.

The start times and tour duration times are approximate. Please understand and allow some flexibility for unforeseen circumstances and logistics issues.

Although we strive to create private tour experiences, we reserve the right to combine tours and/or fill all empty seats.

GENERAL LIABILITY

All tours include some element of risk. Kanab Tour Company and all tour guides assume no liability for injuries, illnesses, damages and/or deaths that may arise during the guided tour, or any other affiliated tour activities or transportation rendered.

You will NOT be able to join any of our tours until you have signed the appropriate waiver acknowledging these risks provided in your email confirmation. Each adult must sign their own waiver, any minor children must be included on one of the parent’s waiver.

You will be sent an official waiver when you book the tour.

GROUP CONTINUITY & SAFETY / PROTECTING OUR RESOURCES

• All guests must stay with the group and guide at all times.
• The guide MUST BE NOTIFIED of any variance to this policy.
• Do not climb or hike up any steep rock faces or areas indicated as “off limits” by your guide.
• Do not enter any mine or cave openings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

To ensure a quality experience, we ask that all guests meet some general requirements in order to achieve the best experiences on our tours. Activities such as OHV and muleback riding do require specific physical requirements. There is always an opt-out of any of the planned activities. Whatever your reason, you are welcome to relax and enjoy the beauty surrounding you instead of joining the provided activity.

OHV (OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE) DRIVING & RIDING

ATV stands for All Terrain Vehicle. OHV stands for Off-Highway Vehicle. We use these terms interchangeably.

• You’ll need to watch a safety video and sign a waiver for the OHV ride.
• The OHV machines we use are very safe and easy to use, think of them as small cars!
• You must be able to fasten the seat belt on the machine.
• We love taking families out into the backcountry, however children under 5 years old are not allowed on the ATVs, this is due to insurance requirements. We do have 4×4 Jeep Wranglers available for families with youngsters.
• You must be 18 and have a current, valid driver license to drive the OHV.
• If you are under 18 years of age, an adult must be present in the vehicle with you.
• The driver must be able to speak and understand English.

Utah Code, Title 41, Chapter 22, Section 37, Subsection (1) specifically states:
“An off-highway vehicle operator who is 18 years of age or older shall accept legal responsibility for injury or damage of any kind to the extent that the injury or damage results from risks inherent in the sport of off-highway vehicle use.”

View the complete Utah Code for Section 37 here.

MULE RIDING

• Weight limit: maximum 220lbs
• Only one rider per mule.
• All participants must be a minimum age of 7 years.
• Height requirement: minimum 4′ 7″
• You must speak English.
• Pregnant women are prohibited from participating.

INTOXICANTS

No illegal drugs or alcohol of any kind are allowed on our tours.

PARENTAL SUPERVISION

Children must be supervised by parents or legal guardians at all times.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We recommend purchasing short-term travel, cancellation and accident insurance before your trip. You can purchase policies that will cover the length of your vacation and provide short-term coverage in the event of loss of luggage, a personal accident or the loss of personal belongings. Your individual homeowners policy may cover some of these items also (it’s a good idea to check in advance). We suggest these travel insurance agencies:

Some of the most difficult situations we’ve had to deal with include sudden onset of health problems for our guests or their family members, or catastrophic events. In these situations, we generally do not have time to refill the space, yet we have already spent considerable time, money and energy preparing for your trip by scheduling vehicles, drivers, guides and equipment, etc. Because of our short season and very limited number of available seats, we cannot afford the financial loss that cancellations cause. Therefore, in deciding whether or not to buy this insurance, consider the investment you are making in your vacation and whether or not you could afford the loss if you did have to cancel. We will do everything in our power to help you reschedule your tour, if possible.
