My aunt and I did the half day Canyoneering tour with Nick and Mica today. This was our first time Canyoneering and we had a blast!! Nick and Mica are amazing and patient guides! They thoroughly explained the rappelling techniques we used and ensured we had a very safe and enjoyable experience! I would absolutely do this excursion again and would highly recommend the Canyoneering Tour to anyone looking for some adventure and a whole lot of fun!!! Thanks again to Nick and Mica and the Kanab Tour company for another great and memorable experience !!
Full Day Canyoneering Tour
Secluded Slot Canyon
Perfect for anyone who wants a bigger adventure
Rappel with our expert guides!
Maybe you have already caught the incurable Canyoneering bug (trust me, there is no cure). We offer longer days for those who have had some previous experience or for those who just want a longer day deeper into the back country.
Canyoneering is the art of descending a canyon. Simple as that. Okay, well sometimes not quite that simple. Sometimes, especially in the Southern Utah Red Rock country, descending a slot canyon involves ropes, rappelling, down-climbing, sliding, and otherwise getting down through whatever challenges the canyon might throw at us. Canyoneering is a fun, team-building exercise in the most beautiful terrain imaginable.
Our guides equip you with high quality helmets, harnesses, gloves and rappelling devices. We then give you techniques on how to rappel effectively and efficiently. Kanab Tour Company has, and always will have, a Two-Man Canyoneering System. This insures all rope rigging is done correctly and thoroughly checked. One of your guides will always act as the belay person. A belay person protects the rappelling client from any chance of falling. Proper communication is key. Our clients’ safety and comfort is always first and foremost, and it is always helpful to have an extra pair of eyes (and hands for photo taking!). We want you to walk away from this experience with added confidence.
Our Full Day Canyoneering offers a longer day canyon. Many of the really quality slot canyons require a little more work to get into and through. With many options for full day slot canyon rappel trips, we will contact you ahead of time to help work out the best canyon option for you and your group.
We do not, nor can we, guide into the backcountry of Zion National Park. It is not allowed for us, or any other guide company, to guide slot canyons inside Zion National Park. The only exception is The Zion Canyon Narrows (click here for info). Canyons like the Subway, Mystery Canyon, Pine Creek and Keyhole canyon are not allowed for commercial guiding.
Our guiding canyons are either located on BLM (public) lands outside Zion Park Boundaries or out further east in Grand Staircase National Monument lands. For the most part, these are canyons that we have set up for guiding. They are not well known outside the local guiding community. We try to keep our guiding canyons a bit of a secret so our guests get a wilderness experience away from large groups.
Since these longer day options usually require a bit more stamina, we ask that no one under 12 years of age attend these full day trips. If you do have super active kids and feel a full day is something they can handle feel free to call us and we can make that decision with you.
